Observations from the Mets’ 3-0 spring training loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Francisco fresh

Francisco Lindor continued his recent torrid play, reaching base twice in a 1-for-3 performance in the Mets’ 3-0 exhibition loss to the Cardinals in Jupiter. The shortstop owns a 1.059 OPS this spring and has homered four times in his past six games.

Cold Conforto

Michael Conforto went hitless in four at-bats and fell to a .639 OPS for the spring. Conforto has one home run and three RBIs in the Grapefruit League.

Caught my eye

Miguel Castro allowed his first hit of the spring on a bloop to center field on which Brandon Nimmo tried to make a lunging catch. Castro struck out two in the inning and still has not allowed a run.

Thursday’s schedule

The Mets have their final day off before departing Florida, and the team’s spring training complex is closed.
